What is SD Alcohol 39?

SD Alcohol 39 is a denatured form of ethanol (ethyl alcohol) used in skincare products as a solvent, astringent, and antiseptic agent. It is specially denatured with tert-butyl alcohol and denatonium benzoate to make it unfit for consumption, allowing its use in cosmetics without beverage alcohol taxes. This quick-evaporating alcohol helps dissolve other ingredients, aids in product penetration, and provides a drying effect on the skin.
