What is OVUM?

Eggs, particularly egg yolk and egg white, have been used in traditional DIY skincare for their nutrient content and tightening properties. Egg yolk is rich in fats, proteins, vitamins (A, D, E), and lecithin, providing moisturizing and emollient effects, while egg white contains albumin proteins that create a temporary tightening mask when applied topically. In modern cosmetics, eggs are rarely used as a primary ingredient due to preservation challenges, allergen risks, and the availability of synthetic alternatives with similar benefits.
