What is DMDF Hydantoin?
DMDF Hydantoin is a synthetic heterocyclic compound used as a broad-spectrum antimicrobial preservative in cosmetics and personal care products. It slowly releases small amounts of formaldehyde, a potent disinfectant, to inhibit the growth of bacteria, yeast, and mold, thereby extending product shelf life. Commonly found in shampoos, conditioners, lotions, and nail polishes at concentrations up to 0.6%.
